MX518
Or if you must get wireless, MX Revolution. G7 has poor battery life which is why they give you 2 batteries.

I quite like my G7, though I bought it to use with my laptop so I don't use it that much. I with they'd put two buttons on the side like the mx700 but otherwise its very nice. Battery life isn't much of an issue due to the second battery.

G7 is designed pretty much the same as the mx700 with just slightly different features and feel. I design and feel of both the G7 and mx700, very comfortable for me.

i disagree
G7 has a lot better feet
that provides a lot smoother gliding action and the 2000dpi laser sensor vs the optical on MX700 is a world of difference
G7 uses lithium ion batteries
G5 uses AA NiMh
u do get forward button on the MX700
u dont get that on G7 nor G5
MX Revo feels a lot more comfortable than G7 but since it doesnt have the 2000dpi sensor, it isnt that great for gaming
it is great for surfing however with the fast wheel action
it all depends if u do a lot of scrolling or not
if so, go try MX revo on display at most stores
if u dont scroll much, G7 would be nice
or even G5 would be awesome because the fabric braided wire doesnt really get in the way to be honest
right now i have MX Duo for cordless and a G5 for gaming
G5/7 feels a whole lot different than MX700 in terms of its sensor
a lot better software too
btw i cant seem to find the exact number for the max resolution for the MX Revolution's laser sensor
does anyone know what it is?Last edited by Evil Techie; Jan 20th, 2007 at 06:47 PM.

I think the best mouse on the market in terms of price/features/comfort is the Logitech MX 518.
One of the best gaming mice on the market IMO

I like the MX518 (though the fact that I have one makes me biased).
I got it for $30 way back when and am still using it up till today._______________

It was good for a while for me. Battery wasn't bad, but it suffered from three things for me:
1- poor response / lag
2- weight
3- charge station and mouse's recharging contacts corroded after a while, and became unreliable. It became increasingly hard to start charging it, and the slightest nudge during charging would stop it.Last edited by jollyeskimo; Jan 20th, 2007 at 11:04 PM.

It's fixed at 800 dpi, same as the MX1K

Here's another vote for the MX 518. However I've been eyeing the Razor Copperhead mouse - anyone here try this yet??
