Beware - Custom Kitchen Cabinet by Fabrizio D'Aurizio
If you ever come upon this guy or get referrals to have this man do your kitchen cabinets or whatever type cabinets you fancy, you should really think hard before signing a contract with him. His price is not cheap to say the least, quality extremely poor, labour very slow...it's been a couple of years and the guy still has not finished what he's been hired to do. The area that he did finished, well, that is another story altogether; all I can say is, the cabinets you get at IKEA are ten folds better in quality and worksmanship...and you get what you pay for. To top that, he's extremely arrogant, talks bad about everybody and anybody, and a lazy ass. Don't believe he's ever done a day of honest work as he's busily going around signing contracts that he never intends to finish. Been taken to small claims court by several dissatified customers.
The reference I was given was from people who used to hired him to do finished carpentry. From the poor quality work I've seen, he's not even fit to put in door knobs evenly let alone hanging a door. It's sad that this guy is still in business luring in unsuspecting clients, especially in Maple, Woodbridge and GTA.

You're going to want to post pics or something tangible, as otherwise these types of posts by users with low post counts are usually viewed at with suspicion.

I agree, in another thread, the OP also claimed that he paid $6000 to have the rooms in his house painted and he paid for the paint and did not even get the walls prepped for that.

Thanks for the advice. I'll do that over the weekend.

I'll post some pics on the shoddy paint work as well. In some areas, they didn't even sand so the paint just looked horrible.

I am sure it was bad. The point was that you said you also bought the paint too so, it seems that you paid painters $6000 for the labour only to paint walls. That is so far out of line, your ability to judge may be off slightly?

Yea... $6000 for painting is VERY expensive, unless you have a huge house.
My house is 2,600 sqft and I paid $3500 including Benjamin Moore paint. I didn't even shop it, since I chose "my guy" to do the work, but I'm sure I could have done better.
Same with the cabinets... didn't you get several quotes and speak to references, check Homestars.com, etc?

That price sounds right on average, 1.00 - 1.50 per sq foot including medium grade paint.

Not rooms, the entire house of 4000 sq.ft. 1 coat of prime and 2 coats of paint but the painters skimped when I was not present.

We had 9 quotes for paint. One came in at $5500, 3 at $6000, 1 for $10000, 2 for $12,500, 1 for $13,500, 1 for $23,500 (that was the first paint quote we received and you could imagine how shocked we were)...all quotations did not include paint. Labour was to apply 1 coat of prime and 2 coats of paint throughout and prep work; the only thing we were to supply were prime and paint...then after they completed the priming, they bitched about how much work there was and skimped on applying the 2nd coat in areas such as the closets and washrooms. Anyhow, that is all water under the bridge. We'll need to publish a book on "What Not to Do When Building Your Own House" especially not to hire a good for nothing General Contractor who is never around and does absolutely nothing including tendering for quotes.

How large is your house? 6000 sq feet+? Did you have a lot of colours? Painters usually charge extra for more than 3 or 4 colours since there is a lot of wastage and it's time consuming to switch colours.

4000 sqft. 5 colours and we provided the paint so i don't see wastage. Public areas are all same colour.

Wow, where are you getting your paint quotes from? My house is slightly smaller, but I used same number of colours and only cost me 2500 to paint. I provided the paints as well.
