Beware of RFD member darknight2ca

Hi,

I would like to warn rfd members about this person darknight2ca. I bought a Samsung Galaxy Note Edge from him on Sept. 19th, the phone stopped working and showed unregistered sim on Sept. 28th. I called my provider thinking the sim was broken, instead I found out the phone was reported lost/stolen.

I have been trying to work the situation out with him since the phone stopped working. He told me that he has contacted Rogers many times and assured me the IMEI would be off the blacklist. Yet whenever I called them myself, they kept telling me it is still on the blacklist, I even did IMEI online checks daily to see if it was removed and it was never removed.

I have been away from RFD for a couple of days and have been trying to contact the seller to get this problem resolved. Instead I found this: advice-problem-1824765/

The seller is trying to make it sound like I'm the one scamming him and making himself seem innocent.
The phone that was bought from him is the same as the day I bought it. I haven't tried to "switch parts" as he says or tampered with the phone in any way.

I guess this was a lesson to learn from. Oh well, just wanted to let everyone know about it. I'll probably just stop contacting the seller as it seems he does not want to get this problem resolved and instead run away with the money, also like he said in his thread that he has blocked me from contacting him anyways.

Have a Good Day all!!

Here are some pics of the IMEI from within the phone and behind the battery. Also pics of IMEI checks all showing that it is still indeed blacklisted as of today.

This blacklist BS has really transformed the second-hand phone market into a *****hole.

That's the worst kind of news when your phone goes kaput, and I've had it happen to me once.

Now I don't take any risks; RFD only and plenty +ive feedback.

Yep...

Sadly it's made me shy away from buying used phones. I also hate selling used phones now. Just because I know the fear in some people now. And I don't blame them. Someone can seem perfectly honest and ***** them over.

The one thing I wonder is if phones bought directly from Apple can be locked, since its the carrier that locks them.

I did sell an iPhone 6 recently. And had an amazing buyer.
I just don't understand how anyone could sell something to someone, which will get blacklisted, and still sleep at night.

***** .
