Beware - super cheap Presto cards on Letsgo (likely Kijiji too)

heads up. You're likely all savvy/street smart but friends and relatives might not be.

Loads of scammy Presto card sales esp on Letgo. For example $500 value card for 1/2 price. Great. You meet seller, check balance, and buy. It works for a bit and then find out hard way seller loaded it using stolen/false credit info. You lose all remaining value.

From a Reddit post "How it works is that you meet up with the seller and verify that the cards indeed are unactivated with the amounts. But once you walk away, the seller (who has your money) will call Presto and deactivate that specific card. PLEASE DON'T FALL FOR THESE SCAMS. You work hard for your $$. "

Just as bad as cellphone blacklist. Buyer beware!

This is such common sense and I truly feel bad for anyone who falls for this kind of stuff. Cards are so easy to deactivate remotely and if it's too good to be true. It's too good to be true.

If it's too good to be true, it's almost always too good to be true.
