I'm in the process of buying an 09 CV-R EX for $36500 OTD right now. Any comments? Purchase finance 60 mo. .9%
BTW they are offering me the extended warranty (6yr. 150K) saying their cost is $936. and they need to make some more profit. My wife wants to take it but I'm not convinced we need it.

$36,500 with their financing seems to be in the "fair deal" range. On the warranty...if they are selling it to you at their cost how are they making more profit? Manufacturers always over estimate their warranty liability and they also mark-up the price so it's ultra conservative for them...they will always make money over the long run. As an individual purchaser it's like gambling...will I end up on the short end or for the better by dishing out $936. The odds are on the former not the latter, so the house wins. But you are an individual player so you may beat the house while others lose. Have faith in the reliability of the brand, set aside your $936 in an account, and use it if necessary over the life of the vehicle (could be an option).

REALLY??!! that sux large, i can understand some rust after a year or so but 6 months? what about getting it rust proofed? at the time of my purchase they were looking to charge about 800 bux. never needed it before with other vehicles so i never truly looked into it so i declined. any opinions as to whether or not getting it done would be smart?

I don't think rustproofing would help.. the car was manufactured in Sep and bought in October. Bolts will always rust unless they use quality parts.. and I guess they don't. On a side note... I noticed a lot of the CR-V parts are from China. The seat belts are from Guangzhong China.

??? So a $36K+ Honda doesn't deserve some stainless steel bolts? Is that how they classified their brands?

2655 is the pretax figure.
if you add 13% on top, 3000 after the tax
