What is your definition of "optimal"? You could up the FSB to 200 to make use of the 3200 RAM, or you could even OC more. There really is no "optimal" unless you define what you want. If you're not looking to OC, then it looks like you are at optimal.

bios help
i have a asus 87n8x-x motherboard with an amd 2500 + barton and i just installed two samsung 512 3200 sticks in it.
i want to have the optimal bios settings and right now they are as follows:
CPU External Freq. 166
CPU Freq. Multiple 11.0
Memory Freq. 100%
Resulting Freq. 166
Are these good values? Should I change them?
Thanks

if you do change them keep an eye on the CPU temp.
Change the FSB first (CPU External Freq) if you want to overclock. Upping the FSB gives you more performance than upping the multiplier._______________

Apr 8th, 2005 07:01 PM #4thanks for the advice, i wasn't planning on overclocking at all, since i don't have the essential cooling devices needed, and don't want to risk it. i just wanted to make sure i was running at the optimal speed that i should be.
