For new babies, you only need to fill out one form "Canada Child Tax Benefit" and the gov't will assess you for both CTB and UCCB. One form does apply two and you'll get 2 assessment letters. It said so in the "How Do You Apply" section of the UCCB information.
It's been more than 15 business days for sure and I applied online. But I did the statement of Live Birth and application of birth certificate & SIN together online (same website). So, may be that's the delay as it also said "It takes approximately 10 weeks to register a birth from the time the "Statement of Live Birth" is submitted to the ORG". Therefore, 10 weeks + 15 days, I guess that's 13 weeks are what they need then...Last edited by ayeung; Mar 28th, 2007 at 01:23 PM.

It's a little strange to fill out a CTB form to apply for the UCCB, but I will fill out whatever form they want as long as I get the money.
It's 15 days or free for a replacement or a new birth certificate as long as the notice of birth registration is complete. I think that is done by the municipalities so the speed would vary depending on what city you are dealing with. 10 weeks still sounds ok to me as it was around 5 months for the last kid and another 4+ months for the birth certificate. The SIN card is always fast though. You should have that within 2 weeks.
It took exactly 3 months for our birth certificate to show up too!
