Was over at a friend's place last night, and his Bit Char G was broken! Oh, the horror!
so... I took it back home and warmed up the soldering iron...
those things are SIMPLE!!!! Its gotta be so easy to mod..... I think that its about time for a quick trip down to Pacific to grab these soon!_______________
You didn't really think that I was GONE, did you?

The Bit Char G is the original mini r/c car that was made by Tomy in Japan...you see a whole bunch of knock offs all over the place now...

Just a question, do the kits (http://tinyrc.com/qfm/racing/051.htm) come with a controller or not? Not very clear.

they have to -- the batteries are in the controller and teh car itself holds a capacitor....Just a question, do the kits (http://tinyrc.com/qfm/racing/051.htm) come with a controller or not? Not very clear._______________

so it does include a radio controller for the car, cause it just says:
3 bodies
1 chassis
1.0 Micro B Motor
35 MHz freq
9.86:1 gearing
in the parts section there are no controllers, so i assume that the kits include one, or else where would you get one
i'm just learning about these things, but i really could get into it!

I got three myself - a white Nissan Skyline, a yellow Honda S2000 and a dual speed Nissan Skyline. In terms of accessories I got a booster controller, 3.0 motor, a variety of different gears and coloured wheels
Very fun to mod!
I'm currently upgrading the internal batteries to achieve longer run times.

Pacific Mall. Make sure you buy the original Tomy bitchargs, not the knockoffs. I have a clone I picked up for $10 (vs. $37-$55 tax included for the bits) and it's crap.

Feb 6th, 2003 10:19 PM #13The small size of the car might make you think that it had a capacitor. That was my initial suspicion, however, the cars acutally house a small NiCad battery.they have to -- the batteries are in the controller and teh car itself holds a capacitor....
The NiCad doesn't get near what would be considered a full charge. It just gets a quick blast from the batteries in the controller, enough for the car to run for what - 5 minutes?

I got one from Londond drugs for $19.99 + tax, it came with a 2.2 motor and it's pretty fast.
I've also seen Chinese new year night market in Vancouver selling them for $18 no tax, an awesome deal, same as the London Drugs one._______________
