I guess. Before the intended fork I bet.
Hard to tell exactly what's going on - we do know for sure it's been in a steep climb for over a month ($3K rise in 1 month) so a drop is to be expected - if it goes back up from here than it could go to another all time high

How can cryptocurrencies become a legitimate "mainstream" asset with the security risk so high? It seems like without proper offline wallets it is very easily hacked. There is no peace of mind with leaving your currency online.
Do you use a bank or do you keep all your cash under your mattress?

It's early but things will change.

Hi guys,
Quick question regarding offline wallets. Does each transaction require you to create a new offline wallet? Or can you use the same offline wallet address?

A main objective of cryptocurrency is to not have centralized institutions. It's supposed to be safe and self-sufficient without some controlling entity like a bank. So far I'm failing to see that in practice. You're right, it's early, but I don't see how this is going to change.

Noob here.

I want to use Bittrex to trade alt coins.

Does anyone know what the cheapest/fastest way to get BTC or ETH into Bittrex?

Someone recommended quadrigax, is that the best/cheapest way?

Thanks

Decentralized exchanges should solve that

Probably a wire to Kraken? Buy LTC, transfer to Bittrex, convert?

There isn't a best/cheapest way to get cryptocurrency from one exchange to another...you simply just transfer it from a private wallet to an exchange wallet, or exchange to exchange, etc. The only time there are additional thoughts and potential issues is when you are trying to buy it with fiat, or convert it back to fiat.

Not necessarily. You could be paying a higher rate to send coins depending on the wallet/exchange you're sending from as a lot of them don't let you choose the speed.

Just read this too.

That is what is dropping the bitcoin price down back to under $6000 now.

Bitcoinist reports Segwit2X fork suspended.

Some people wish to exploit on this news knowing about this ahead of the ones who are buying. Almost got ripped off of $200 when price was $7779 and now to $7229 within the news breaking within 45 mins ago,

Some people have no honour.Angry Face
