Bitcoin mining, Antminer S9, $790 USD/month profit

Profit per month:
Disclosure: Mining metrics are calculated based on a network hash rate of 13,823,824,128 GH/s and using a BTC - USD exchange rate of 1 BTC = $ 16838.21. These figures vary based on the total network hash rate and on the BTC to USD conversion rate. Block reward is fixed at 12.5 BTC and future block reward reductions are not taken into account. The average block time used in the calculation is 600 seconds. The electricity price used in generating these metrics is $ 0.132 per kWh.

Antminer S9 Specs:
https://shop.bitmain.com/antminer_s9_as ... ifications

CryptoCompare shows a $790.46 USD profit per month with the following input:
1 BTC = $ 16838.21
Hasting power: 14
Power consumption (w): 1372
Cost per KW/h ($): 0.132
$790 USD/month is the total mined - total cost.

$790 is very profitable. Mining 0.05 BTC/month is very good when the current BTC price is $16k.

"According to the above inputs, the S9 will produce** 0.285 BTC / $159 per month** and 3.36 BTC / $1939 per year." - June 27, 2017 article
https://www.buybitcoinworldwide.com/min ... tminer-s9/

buybitcoinworldwide.com June 27, 2017 article shows only a profit of $159/month but BTC then was 1BTC = $2500USD.

Is it very profitable to run a bitcoin Antminer S9 now with profit of $790 USD/month?

Very interesting, lots of variables though, two biggest obv being bitcoin price and mining difficulty. Could be worth a gamble.

Where's the cheapest place to get one?

Easy, just pre-order it a year ago for around ~2500USD, or buy it for 4-5 times the price on eBay today, since they're completely sold out and not even taking any more orders at the moment.

Also, I think they only take a certain cryptocurrency as payment, so you have to get your hands on that beforehand.

3 1080ti will give you the same monthly profit for around the same price but it'll be way easier to buy/resell and you can buy them from reputable buyers and not worry about failing hardware with little support/warranty. Disclaimer i dont know much about the process of buying the S9 and the warranty/support but i feel 1080ti are a much safer investment for almost the same return

Can you list the hardware requirements to go along with the 1080ti?
I might as well get into this now.

Well you gotta make sure you have enough PSU juice for them, enough pci-e slots and pci-e connectors in your pc.
1 1080ti requires 1x8 pin and 1x6pin so make sure you have enough. In running a 1080ti and a 1070ti on a 750W PSU and its fine. For 2 1080ti probably would need an 850W and 3 1080ti a 1050W.

Build me a rig based on your suggested 3 1080ti.
Part by part and I'll just order it exactly.

It all depend on bow much can fit on 1 motherboard, otherwise theres "mining rig" which is just a rack to fit 6-8 gpus and using pcie extender to link to a motherboard. Im not very familiar with those tho. Otherwise if you already have 1 or 2 PC you can use them and fit as much as you can in them. Thays what i did with 1 PC woth a 1080ti & 1070ti, and another PC with a 1070ti.

Do you already have any hardware to start with?
