[Comp] Blazing hot! Dell vostro 2420 laptop, core i3, ubuntu, only $279 today only!!!!!!!!

I got the V2420 this afternoon.

Two things,
1st) OS is Win7 Pro instead of Home premium. Doesn't make much difference in this case.
2nd) HD is 320GB not 500GB.

$50 refund will be sweet from above posts.

Called it in, transfered around 5 times.... hung up by "system error" at the end.... the customer care # (1 866 387 5757) is no longer in service.... This maybe my last dell computer, I always like their small biz phone support, 2nd to apple. Not anymore, only the tech guy knows what he is talking about.... the rest have no idea what is Hard Drive or Ram, or GB is Gigabyte.

/ps. the dell canada wesite isn't any better, 500 server error everywhere.... byebye Dell.

talk about a painfull ordeal. I don't know who is worse Dell or Rogers. spoke to cust service who passed me onto tech support to verify the hard drive was wrong . Then back to cust support all the time waiting on hold in between transfers to only have the guy offer me to have a tech come out and replace the hard drive or return yhe computer. i told him that was not a satisfactory solution and requested a discount which he refused. i asked to speak to some one else and was told they will tell me the same thing. i was still pushing for a credit and was conveinently hung up on to start all over again. this time a just told the guy my friend had recieved a credit and thats what i wanted.he told me they are having alot of calls in regards to this problem and processed the $50 credit . was told it will take about 7-10 days . time spent on the phone, i lost track 1.5-2hrs. good luck to all

3) I asked for a rebate instead and just keep the laptop as is - was offered a $50 credit back on my account. I accepted as I felt that was a fair deal. Online the upgrade was somthing like $38.

I do not think the problem is this for ubuntu. I already paid 50$ less expensive with choosing ubuntu that windows with an additional 50$.. My plan is to format ubuntu and install windows 7 with my activator like on my desktop pc

You think he has a 320GB drive in it? Mine is on it's way from Dell. I guess I will be getting a 320GB in it. Oh well, I will fight for a $50 dollars off!

I see his kijiji ad has been up since the 14th of December. Perhaps he bought it last time it was on sale, but it wasn't a boxing day special. My Ubuntu version is 'in production'...
