1) When you boot the Ubuntu version for the first time,,, it gives you an option to later on make your own RECOVERY DISC, do that right away.

2) you can wipe out the HDD and install Windows OS yourself without any problem.
3)If you choose to install Windows (eg. Windows 7 64bit), make sure to visit Dell site and download all the Windows drivers first!

4) If you don't want any trouble installing/upgrading Win7, choose $319 vostro 2420 for win 7 option from the link above.

sorry, i only have limited knowledge of computers. I find FS and BB have similar laptops in the same price range with 15.6 screen size. Is this dell laptop much better than those deals offered by FS, BB and staples?
