Has anyone tried to do a product switch from the cashback mc? I had switched from the world elite to the cashback last year, and wondering if I swapped back, would you still get the bonus?
My guess is no, especially if you are assigned the same BMO Travel Rewards #.

Has anyone redeemed BMO Rewards Points recently?

I recall from booking before, that the points were typically 100 points = $1 on the BMO Rewards site for hotel rooms...

I'm looking at hotel rooms right now and it seems it's more like 110-130points = $1 now?

This is really the only downside to this card, their rewards redemption isn't very good...
Agreed, just booked flights with them a week ago to use up $200 point bonus. Had a small typo with one passenger, called them first time, kept mentioned $25 change fee. In the morning, I checked with Air Canada CS, nothing was fixed, called BMO Rewards again, ended up cancelled first booking and re-booked, cancellation fee $50 (6-8 weeks refund wait) and another $25 for change fee. First rep should know to cancel and re-book as it was within 24h window for online booking without penalty. BMO Rewards program is not very good, their travel booking site is sub-par with less choices and CS is so bad. Been using TD Rewards forever, 4.5% rewards points on all online bookings and amazing CS.

My 3 yr promo is sadly coming to an end on my BMO world elite card... got the letter in the mail that I'll be charged the normal fee soon ($150 + $50/supplementary)

Has anyone successfully had them back off on the fee? I like the card, the lounge passes are handy once in a while when I'm at the airport with a delayed flight and need to kill some time.. but it would be even better if I got the fee waived!
I got the letter today too. All us 3 year guys. I guess we need to open an account and keep 6000$ in it. I will do that to use up the 1000$ in points I have accumulated and then may cancel and hope for the free bmo account to pop up.
I love my Koodo account.

Can we downgrade to a no-fee card to preserve points?

yes, but you have to use them within 90 days else they will be gone.

Does anyone know when the welcome bonus points show up on your account? have been using it for about 10 days now and still 0 points.

Anyone successfully open a new card using the free "bundled" account and transfer points from the expiring card onto the new one?

This is probably a long shot... just looking for a way to preserve my points!!

If you already have a BMO mc in 2017 you are not able to open the unlimited plan.

My guess would be a no base on their terms/conditions:

But it's usually YMMV. Best thing is to spend it of course.

thanks. Yeah, I'll try to spend it... but I have quite a few (~250k) so I was hoping to not have to spend them in a rush!

Appreciate all your hard work on this thread!

Here are some possible changes for the BMO World Elite MasterCard as per the following link http://www.canadianrewards.net/2017/10/ ... cards.html. I have no way of verifying this and this is the only website that has announced this. Perhaps someone in the know could verify it.

- BMO will add a bonus rewards earn to Travel/Dining and Entertainment purchase
- Waiver of annual fee for BMO Private Banking clients
