BMW 528xi US vs Can pricing
I know this issue has been discussed many times and I am always aware the (small) difference in standard equipments and the BS about being more costly to do business in Canada; but BMW Canada, do you really think you are doing yourself a favor by attempting to charge me $10k more for a BMW 528xi? I will simply look for something else. In fact, look at what Porsche is doing (matching US pricing more or less). Don't tell me it costs them less to do business here in Canada. They are just leading by example and be a good citizen by not trying to screw your own people.

If you compare US to the rest of the world, the same car would have cost $100,000 equiv. in other countries due to extreme taxation. Well, not much more we, Canadian can do unless you want to buy it from US as demo or used due to the fact that US dealers are prohibited of selling new ones.

if you are baller enough to not lease or finance, then go for it. You have to consider that the sales in US is so much greater than Canada.

BMW Canada
The thing that really pissed me off is that a friend's friend works at BMW Canada and management there said Canadian absolutely loves BMWs so they don't need to do anything at all.

That's what they want you to believe. If volume does really matter, wouldn't Porsche be killing themselves by lowering the price here? Do you really think rent here is more expensive than say in NY? You sell less but you also pay less to operate.

Your friend's friend hm?
I must say I am pretty happy that people are starting to understand economies of scale
If we want lower prices, we need to buy more cars.

^ BMW Canada moved into their huge building 2 -3 years ago. They even name the street after their trademark, 'Ultimate Drive'. Somebody has to finance their new digs ... "We are!" (Canadian driving bimmers)
