Having a high end car or sports car that is FWD would defeat the purpose of it being a sports car. Sports cars are all about performance and handling. You can't have good handling if it is FWD.

My suggestion would be to go with an AWD car.

im not looking to buy a car.
my gfs dad says that there are NO exsisting fwd high end sports cars.

i disagree.

my engines teacher says that the words 'never' and 'always' do not exsist in the automotive world. This is because someone somewhere has tried something to go against the trend. and i firmly believe this. NEVER say NEVER.

Saab has never developed a RWD platform, only AWD and FWD. If you consider any of their line to be a sports car, there you have it.

saab viggen with 280hp and 300tq has FWD, high end, i've seen a few used around the GTA for around 18k, beautiful cars they dont make then new anymore.

Saabs new 9-3SS Aero with the v6 turbo engine has 250HP and no turbo lag.

It really depends on how you define high end, and sports car. Saab is probably the most obvious one here, but some could argue that it's "not high end enough". Volvo as well.... plenty of FWD's in their long line of T5's and R sedans/wagons, and they're no slouch in the performance department either. There's also all the uptuned imports, hondas in particular... they've been fine tuning the balance on FWD's since forever.

my definition of high end is something that makes an obviously amount of unused hp and tq.

^^ well for that definition you are wrong. there are no existing or in production FWD cars that do that.

However if you are lookin for something that is comparable to a BMW 3 Series or a Merc c240 that is FWD, you can find that with the AUDI a4...their CVT tranny cars are FWD i believe.

BMW, no.

MB - the new '06 B-Class is FWD.

"High-end Sports cars" and FWD don't go together.

wrong. a production Saab has never put down those kinds of power numbers, including the 9-3 Viggen you mentioned. the actual stats are below, a far cry from what you posted.

taken from edmunds.com: (for 2000-2002 models up from 1999 ratings)

230hp @ 5500rpm
258ft-lbs. @ 2500rpm

beautiful cars they may have been, but the Viggen was also know for its severe tragic torque steer characteristics (due to the high-powered turbo fwd drivetrain), turbo lag and numb steering.
