Thanks for the help guys throughout this thread. That cabrio M4 sold in the middle of driving down to see it :( They had another one, but it was an automatic and I only owned 3 pedal cars and driven 3 pedals ever since I got my license. It was also a bit pricey- $89,000 for a 2015- though fully loaded (carbon ceramic brakes too along with packages) and BMW Individual edition. Beautiful car nonetheless. The sales guy tried to sucker me into buying it with a $3,500 discount without me saying anything yet.

My other options I got to test drive around that price point local to me were a Porsche Boxster S, Macan GTS, or a M4/M3 coupe/sedan. Macans only come in PDK but that transmission is fun enough for me to try to "learn" automatics.

I ended up purchasing a F80 M3 in Calgary as I had some wiggle room and rates were better on the BMW than Porsches. Only could go though manufacturer finance/lease as I am young (24 as of 8 days ago) and have had short income and credit history. Big 5 wouldn't touch me with a 10 foot pole. My original car I wanted for quite some time was a 911 but wanted to save more capital to buy more Alberta properties while the market is still somewhat in the buyer's favour. Look forward to driving it home once insurance cheque arrives.

Best I could do was 5.2% off.

Will post more pics when I get a chance

Has 13,000km or so. Tech package, premium package, active LED highlights

lol... the M4 cabrio that "sold" on the way down there now is suddenly available. Now they're giving me the option to drive that home instead and to cut me a deal. Has 3096km.

oh! if manual is what you really want, then M4 may be worth considering (as long the dealer is really trying to give you a deal). Otherwise, you will always have doubt .. "should have ... "

Congratulations on the M4 Firstgear!

If you are not fully sold on the DCT stick to the 6 speed manual. I test drove a DCT M3 before I bought my 6 speed manual M3 and the DCT was no where near as fun and involving to drive as the 6 speed manual. The 6 speed manual is very easy to drive with an easy and forgiving clutch and the rev matching on downshifts makes it a breeze to drive around town. You are guaranteed to be sold on the 6 speed manul the first time you come up to a sharp right turn and drop it from 4th gear to 2nd gear and hear the burble of the exhaust on the downshift! I had 3 previous manuals before I bought my previous 8 speed automatic 2013 335 xdrive and regretted buying the 8 speed automatic after just a few weeks.........

Anyone have any contacts for someone at a dealership that is able to sell me extended warranty at a discount? 535i xdrive still under factory warranty at the moment, but looking to extend it. Please send a PM, and TIA!

i can guess why.. lots of inventory nationwide. Like 60 M3s and they're mostly north of 90K, if not north of 100K.

Yup. I pretty well guessed it too. Otherwise, those arrogant dealers will say "Not a dime off"

Price out an ATS-V, C63 AMG, or Giulia Quadrifoglio lately?
