Bookshelf cleaning sale! (CS, finance, genetic)
I am cleaning up my bookshelf to make rooms for new books. I have divided the books available into three tiers. Most of these books are in mint condition and have no writings in them.
Tier 1. Books in this tier are of the latest edition. I am asking for 50% of the lowest market price listed on Amazon.com (round down to the nearest Canadian dollar). e.g. if a book is listed as USD 101.00 on Amazon.com, you pay CAD 50.00 (101 / 2 = 50.5 ~= 50).
Bal and Grune, Programming Language Essentials 1st edition, Addison-Wesley, 1994.
Engel, Programming for the Java Virtual Machine, Addison-Wesley, 1999.
Gouda, Elements of Network Protocol Design, Wiley-Interscience, 1998.
Hawkins, Gene structure and expression 3rd edition, Cambridge University Press, 1996.
Penrose, The Emperor's New Mind, Oxford University Press, 1999.
Plauger, The Standard C Library, Prentice Hall, 1992.

Smith, On the Origin of Objects, The MIT Press, 1996.
Trucco and Verri, Introductory Techniques for 3-D Computer Vision, Prentice Hall, 1998.
Tier 2. Books in this tier are one edition behind the latest edition available. I am asking for 25% of the lowest market price listed on Amazon.com (round down to the nearest Canadian dollar). e.g. if a book is listed as USD 102.00 on Amazon.com, you pay CAD 25.00 (102 / 4 = 25.50 ~= 25).
Date and Darwen, Foundation for Object/Relational Databases--The Third Manifesto 1st edition, Addison-Wesley, 1998.
Hull, Options, Futures, and Other Derivatives 6th edition, Prentice Hall, 2006.
Meyer, Object-Oriented Software Construction 1st edition, Prentice Hall, 1988.
Tier 3. Books in this tier are obsolete or are more than one edition behind of the latest edition available. Therefore, they are free for all. You can get as many books as you want from this tier. My hope is that some people would find them useful. So please be considerate when you are selecting which books to get. A $5 donation per trip to cover fuel would be appreciated.
