Update: **This deal appears to be dead. However, if you take advantage of the $550 deal to Hong Kong, you can book a return flight from Hong Kong to the Philippines for $250. If you can, avoid staying the nigth October 1st in Hong Kong, as it is expensive thanks to the holidays (October 1 and 2). If you get carried away, from Manila, you can go cheaply to Cebu, Singapore and sometimes Jakarta. **

Just when I thought $545 from Burlington, Vermont, to Hong Kong was unbeatable: Same deal for Manila, Philippines. 700 extra km for the same price!

You can use your favourite border town: Buffalo, Fargo, Burlington, Detroit, etc...

Side note, use Mapquest when planning your trip, Google Maps insists on using local languages and scripts.

PS. No visa required, but be sure to check out the travel warnings for the Philippines: "Locals with children may befriend single male tourists and then accuse them of child abuse in order to extort money from them." That is a whole new level of MILF danger!

But the good news: "There is no risk of yellow fever in this country."

PPS. Looks like these flights are transiting via Tokyo, so you might be able to have a stopover there for a $100 more like I did for Hong Kong. But only on the way there, on the way back it doesn't seem to work.
