Thinking of going across the border to get a dishwasher - so much cheaper it's insane.
Question is, where are Bosch dishwashers made? I heard *most* are made in the USA but need verification.
Thanks!

Yup. They made in the USA. It says so right on the serial number plate but you can also verify online.
Why do you ask?_______________

Because I'm thinking about going to the states to get the model I want ($449 at Lowes US right now, cheapest up here is $600 at Sears) and wanted to make sure it was made in the USA so I didn't pay duty.

Do you know if they will waive the state tax for you on it, if not that might not make it as attractive.....

State tax is only $30.
I'm looking at a higher end model now - up here at lowes it's $948 I believe, Lowes in the States... 485... unbelievable.

So I got the she6af02uc:
$485.10 at Lowes in Ogdensburg. $900 at Sears in Canada.
No brainer.

So how does the warranty work? I thought about making the drive to the States to buy appliances, but the warranty part made me waiver.
Are you covered in Canada, that is, will they send someone to your house under warranty, or are you forced to forfeit the service since you are in Canada and you bought it from the States?

I believe you are correct that I forfeit service. For the first 7 (or 14?) days I can return the unit to the store so I'm kind of covered for the Dead on Arrival case. From other posts on RFD, I believe that in the Bosch fine print that I am not entitled to warranty because I removed the unit from the country of purchase.
But, the Lowes in Ogdensburg does 50-60% of their business with Canadians (half the staff are Canadian I think). So the store wouldn't even exist if they didn't have Canadians. So ... I think they might be able to "help" if I were to drive the unit back to Ogdensburg within the first year of warranty - just my impression.
I also don't believe or count on warranties. I always fix my own appliances - I know how to use a multi meter and a wrench, how hard can it really be?
Check out this RFD thread if you want a "real" warranty

I had a Sears dishwasher that crapped out after 1 1/2 years. Replaced bushings, etc. and got 2 more years out of it. Warranty is over rated IMHO
