Spec & feature wise this is the Best advertised Laptop on any site boxing day here's why:
- Before I forget to mention 1 of the most important factors, the video card included in this Laptop is a Nvidia GeForce Go 6150 which is a killer video card, and has 256MB of Ram and not 128 as advertised. Check the Nvidia Site.
- After doing carfeul research, concluded that the DV9005CA model @BB was incorrectly priced, but you won't know that.
- All HP Pavillion models also come with a neat looking remote.
- Only the DV9005CA model includes a 8-Cell Lithium Ion battery(rumored to give you between 4-5 hours)
- The 17'' inch version has a fairly decent DVD burner that also supports Lightscribe.
- BB has on offer if you buy any HP laptop or desktop you get $100 any HP printer. BB also has a HP Laser printer on sale for $99.99, so In essence if you you buy the HP Laptop you'll get a free Laser printer.
Either way you slice it this is a 1 helluva deal.
The only thing kept from buying it is the lacking of wireless network adapter! I don't want to put a card in everytime I want to use wireless network.
Edit: I found it has b/g wirelss. Damn bestbuy not show that in the specification page. But I still think it only has 128 of video ram.

Your analogy does not reflect what the manager was trying to say. A better analogy would be... a 2ghz processor with a FSB of (200mhz * 4 = 800 mhz effective) will probably perform better than a 2ghz processor with a FSB of (166.75 mhz * 4 = 667mhz effective).

Second of all, the only new thing coming out in Q1 2007 is the Allendale, which is a modified version of the Core 2 we have right now. Not a huge difference in terms of performance. Just a slightly different processor.
Third of all, never ask sales people for advice. Do your homework before going to the store.
It is true that there will be a core 2 duo (merom) update in approximately april of 2007. The update will consist of a new socket used by the processor (socket P) and the processor will have a FSB upgrade from 166.75mhz (667mhz eff.) to 200mhz (800mhz eff.). This update will make the current generation of core 2 duos obsolete just like how the new core 2 duos have made core duos obsolete. (BTW, this partcular processor may not sound all that spectacular, but its centrino platform is quite impressive.)

It will not. Coz there is no use of higher FSB when RAM prices are so high. Hell we dont even get 667mhz RAM with budget computers. It is just a slight update.

If I didn't already convince people to buy 3 in the last 2 days, I wouldn't have found this out.....I can assure you it has a wireless network adapter & its 256MB. I also personally checked the on board Video memory & its listed at 256 MB. I wouldn't be listing it on here stating that it has 256MB if it didn't. the Nvidia GeForce Go 6100 card has 128 MB of on board memory. Looks like someone @ BB F'd up. This should be at least at $1500 system.

This is an okay deal. I believe the intergrated graphics has to share memory from the system to combine with the intergrated memory on the graphics chip to obtain a total of 256mb of video ram. The amount of memory avaliable for intergrated graphics is usually a non-factor simply because it's too slow to take advantage of it. Simply put, it won't put the beautiful 17' display to good use when you're gaming... and it's certainly not impressive enough to show off to your friends.
If you want a hot deal for notebook with real graphics power, check the staples clearances. They are your best bet. http://www.redflagdeals.com/forums/s...d.php?t=351146
