Brock U undergraduate(1st year) requiring some assistance

A friend of mine is completely lost and has no idea what to do. He tried calling in to ask but they didn't really help, nor were the advisor's back from vacation. I took a look at the course calendar and the English department website, and I was really lost.

So right now, here's his situation: Dorms are full(never made it past the waiting list), his courses are full(He's majoring in English and Literature), as is the electives(Like Drama), according to him. He did add in a Sociology class though.

Does anyone have any ideas what to do? September is rolling around fast.

I'm a Brock alumni, so I might have some advice. What's your friend trying to do? What courses has he signed up for already?
