Same boat. BSc Biochem, out of the hundreds of jobs I've applied to I had one interview which they essentially summoned me for to tell me in person that I was not qualified. Job was for analytical chemist at csr cosmetics. The head chemist said "look, you see where were going with this, you're running against a QA guy, an R&D guy, etc". They recommended the courses to take for those, as someone mentioned before, from Seneca or from TIPT the private school, which I have been warned away from as the school is 20$ a year and seems like kind of a scam. Seneca on the other hand, I wrote the entrance test for their RA program (which requires a science degree), and was informed I was competing against over 300 other people. The top 20 get selected; even after you pick out the highest scores it's essentially a lottery to get in. After not hearing back from them and calling every day for two weeks with no one picking up, I moved away to a new town, which, surprise! Has zero work in my field except one pharm factory, which is contract, which I also haven't heard back from.
Gave resumes to every single pharmacy in town just for a 10$/hr pill counting job and was asked by one of them "So what pharmaceutical experience do you have?" "Uhhh... none..?" I figured that would've been a good place to start.
I am now jobless, going to apply to Home Depot, and beginning to repay my debt after being out of school for 8 months. Beginning to be a dire situation for me.
