No no, please come in thru Lego entrance, it's entertaining to see the reaction of most people walking in now Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Smiling Eyes
What time did you get there at?

On a positive note, if it wasn't for all the strollers, the lineup would realistically begin at Starbucks (probably half way) Grinning Face With Smiling Eyes

Yeah I would agree with you there. There are bears still, but I don't think there will be much choice for people at the back

8:30am.

I agree, buuutttt... people in front are suddenly producing 5-6 kids out of nowhere. Guess they were sitting elsewhere waiting?

That's hardly surprising, you don't really expect kids to stand in line waiting patiently, do you?

I only took a half day, I don't think that's enough or worth this hassle. Props to all of you bearing with the wait.

Now chaos is starting

People are coming to the front and blocking entrance with questions and complaints. They're closing the gate down to keep it more restricted. I think security needs to be called at this point Expressionless Face

I don’t get why anyone would wait in line for like 3 hours or whatever to save, what, $50?

What’s the thought process behind that?
deleted to keep the site family friendly. Was about copping sick fadez.
Well there's no sick fadez left to be copped now that the regimen cannot be admired in all its glory
RIP sick fadez.

Keep in mind most of these parents and kids are usually at the mall already today or at least during the week. Its summer vacation after all. Plus its not just one savings, they might have two or three or more kids with them. So the savings adds up and you keep the kid distracted for the rest of the day or into the weekend.

Lets not forget the era we live in which combines materialism with social media. Parents and kids need to flaunt their custom build-a-bear collabs.

C'mon @nasa25 , I thought for sure you would appreciate the collabs.

There's a demographic of people who think they are better than everyone else because they got something for free (or almost free).. kinda sad.

3 security now, they want to close line for 5 HOURS because people keep going to front and blocking line. Extra security is helping a bit though

To all those who think this is nuts: Sorry, this is entertaining!! I'm saving money AND getting a free show Smiling Face With Open Mouth And Cold Sweat

I don't think its that but rather kids can be expensive.

Plus the point of this promotion was to allow folks that might be on a stricter budget to experience build-a-bear but its not like they screen for Social Economic Status at the door before letting kids walk in.

Remember the No Frills gift cards given out during the ice storm in 2013. You had people lining up for them after parking their Beamers and Audis in the parking lot.

This is marketing and PR.

Vouchers on their website and scheduling throughout the week does nothing for word of mouth, and in the online case just crashes their servers.

If you're in the mall, you're drawn to the huge line and chaos.

I feel for the employees. Some may just be seasonal hires at a summer job. They have to deal with obnoxious demanding customers, not to mention their children as well!
