Bus Tour. Help!
My girlfriend and I want to go on a short vacation via bus travel. Our budget I guess would be like 500 bucks each. This is my first time experience with this sort of thing. Where to go i also have no idea. To cross the border or not?
Anyways. Tips. Bus companys. Etc. would be very helpful.

Can you give more details - where you want to go, how many nights, etc?
I don't believe in joining tours - you get herded around like sheep, sit on a bus most of the time, always feel rushed, and would probably leave the city not even knowing the names of the main streets.
Per person, transportation will be 100 - 200 (by bus or train), accomodation ~ $40 a night for downtown locations since it's shared between two people, food, subway and various admission costs ~$100 - $200. So $500 should get you about 4 - 5 days in a city. Those are the numbers I came up with based on the recent trips I planned by myself. Give some specifics and perhaps I or other people on the forum may have some pointers for you?
