Buy a Banana Republic gift card and use in the U.S.

On the Banana Republic gift card, it says that a card in Canada can be used in the U.S. Does anyone know if they adjust the currency rate? With the Canadian $ below 72 cents, this would be awesome for my upcoming trip to Florida. Quick responses appreciated!!!

Well since businesses are not in the habit of losing money I'd say there's probably a conversion on that. Also probably an awful conversion rate to go along with it.

Lots of gift cards automatically convert currency, so I'm going to think no.

One would think so. I know that Starbucks doesn't. I buy my cards here and use them there - no conversion.

I think this is the answer - found on their website...

Dollar values are in the currency of the country where card is originally issued.

This is interesting information. Can anyone out there confirm these gift cards from various US companies?
