I buy a lot of random chinese stuff (lens mugs, lens caps, etc) on buyincoins.com and today I noticed they have a knockoff rapid camera strap for $8.18. BIC is probably one of my favourite chinese sites as they ship fairly quickly and don't pad up their prices like DX. They also take a photo of your package and upload it to your account before they ship it off.

I wouldn't use this for a 5D MKIII, but I have a 30D so I may give this a tryPut "fiveoff" In the recommender discount box for 5% off to lower it to $7.77

It seems that the included plate isn't as good. However, BIC also sells the better mount for $1.61

I think the plate is better than that little POS, I wouldn't want it to unscrew itself
Plus, you can attach a handgrip to that plate
I got 3 of those and gave them to my friends, used mine with a D90 and a Tammy 17-50, survived a 2 weeks abuse while I was in china lol_______________

If the quick strap is similar in quality it is a no brainer but that doesn't seem to be the case from the review.
There is another knock off with the stopper for a bit more.

I'm not sure about that review, seemed to dismiss it immediately and just keep hocking the Blackrapid. Of course they are not the same thing, but for the price it may be good enough for most people

The neoprene version is better...more comfortable and it doesn't slip around on your shoulder..like this one.

I've had the Q strap for about 2yrs now. I rarely use it cause I'm always going with just a hand strap. I do keep the included plate on full time to accomodate the handstrap, then I can throw the Q on anytime I need it. Anyway, for the $ you can't go wrong, and if your nervous about it breaking a simple tether is cheap enough to add.
