Buying a Nintendo Switch @ Shoppers Drug Mart

Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a Nintendo Switch and it seems like the only place I can get a decent deal is at SDM.

- Senior day - 20 % (Are video games excluded from 20 % ? Is the 20 % right off ? Could get my dad to purchase the console)
- 15X Optimum point (Are video games excluded ? Obivously this is a return in points, so money out of the pocket is the same as BB or else. Equals a return worth of 22 % in points)
- F&F 20 % off on feb-12 (Are video games excluded ? Can you combine with multiplier points coupon if one was available that day ?)

1- SENIOR DAY is 20% Off Regular Priced Merchandise.
According to SDMs recent fine print on this...
The Offer is for all Seniors 65 and older and their accompanying family members

So unless there is also some sort of bonus running in the day as well...
It would be the dollar cost of the switch x 15 PCO Points / $ 1 Spent
(Ie $ 399.99 x 20% = $ 319.99
319 x 15 = 4785 PCO Points)
Where 4785 = $ 4.785 in value

2- MULTIPLIER EVENTS
One earns Base Points on all purchases

So if the game was $ 99.99 you’d earn essentially
99 x 15 x 15 = 22,275 in PCO Points
Where 22,275 = $ 22.275 in value

The receipt will break out the Points as Base & Bonus
Base = 1,485
Bonus = 20,790

3- Cannot speak to the FRIENDS & FAMILY EVENT
Have not seen the details yet

PS... there is a whole thread here on the SHOPPING DISCUSSION dedicated to PCO Program
It is most likely where the Mods are going to move your Question / thread to

You should be able to stack the F&F 20% with any point multiplier bonus available to you that day.

We don't always merge threads into megathreads. This specific topic would likely do very well on SEO.

Ok, checked out the SDM Flyer on Flipp

There is No Friends & Family Event this coming week / weekend

But the Senior Day on February 7th is a SENIOR BONUS DAY

So if one has a net spend beyond $ 50... then one also earns an extra 10,000 PCO Points ($ 10 Value)

So there is a 20X day tomorrow and a bonus redemption this weekend. I have rounded the numbers but am I right in assuming the following scenario :

Purchase switch on 08-02 : Obtain 114 $ worth of points (380*0.3=114) - Pay 440 $ out of pocket

Granted I have a couple of points I can do EXTRA 50 $ redemption on 120 $ for a total of 170 $ on 09-02.

Purchase Zelda + Smash Bros + 10 $ filler on 10-02 using points pay 0$ out of pocket.

So I'ts 440 $ tx in for Switch, Zelda, Smash brand new.

Am I right ?

Sounds right.

Good luck finding Smash during a bonus redemption weekend though... Zelda should be easy to find.

You were quite right, hunting for games during redemption is not an easy task. I purchased the switch using x20 pts which yielded 130 $ worth of point but could not locate a store with either interesting games or pro controller + game during the weekend.

I ended up finding a store today with a pro controller and mario kart. I bought those with the pointe i had gotten from the console 3 days ago.

I did have to pay taxes on the 170$ which adds 27 $ to my total.

All in all :
- nintendo switch console
- mario kart
- pro controller

477 $ all included. Not a bad deal. Having thecked kijiji quite a bit before making the move this is pretty much what peiple are asking for such bundle on the used market.

Quite pleased with my optimum peogram

I got the PSVR Beat Saber/Borderlands 2 bundle on megaredemption day this past weekend. $449.99 - 200,000 pts ($200+$100 bonus = $300 off). = $149.99 plus tax. I had a 20x pt offer loaded and got almost $50 in pts back included in my transaction. Pretty good deal.

Do you know how can I find the Nintendo Switch at SDM?

Most of the stores are sold out in downtown Montreal, and is there any information that I can gather online?

You have to call each SDM individually to ask them. As a rule of thumb, if they don't list that they have a photo center, chances are they don't carry electronics. Won't apply to most SDMs but I found that the rule worked for me. Good luck!

I just bought one. 380+13% tax = $430 total.

20x points gave me $117 in points.

Waiting for redemption offer to get games now.

Quick question about this "Super Senior Bonus Day" when seniors and their accompanying family members get 20% off regular merchandise PLUS 10,000 pts WUS $50:

Can we stack this a personal/store 15X or 20X pts offer? If yes, will we only get the multiplier on the amount greater than $50?

I'm planning to buy a Switch ($379.99) on this day so spend will be well over $50.
Cards:HSBC WE MC 1.5%/3% travel 0 FX MC acceptance 31 day med AF $49
CTC WE MC 3% grocery, 3.54% CTC, RA, billpay
Bank: Alterna (2%+, no fees)
Brokers: IB (For. stocks/low comm)/Reg. RBCDI(service, USD)

The upcoming SENIOR BONUS DAY is THURSDAY ~ MAY 23rd

As always, i presume it will be a case of When You Spend Offers NOT STACKING

Bottom Line WUS Offers are not meant to / created to stack
(4EVERY Offers stack, with themselves, and with WUS Offers)

But hey, YMMV. Let us know how it works out for you

And the way that SDM WUS Multipliers work:
they work on the entire amount when one meets the Spending Threshold*
AFTER any deductions
And BEFORE Tax
* On qualifying purchases
You’ll find the fine print in the flyers & on website
