Not HOT at all, you can get T420's on kijiji for 180-250$ - some with SSD's + 8b ram. These are 2012 laptops in 2017...

They are very solid laptops, built like tanks, but unfortunately they arnt worth 320$ + TAX

Most of them are off lease or came off-lease years ago. I Failed to mention you can get a decent T430 (faster CPU) for closer to 250-300$ on kijiji. Not sure why anyone would go for this deal.

Screen: 1600x900 is a killer for me.

I had the same thing at work and it's very hard for me to see and gives me headaches.
Luckily, I bought the other one during RFD hot deal. 1080p

Agreed. Bauer Systems' pricelist shows a bunch of cheaper T420 options.

I'll have to agree with you on this for three reasons (among others): Lenovo used low quality TN display panels on its T420/T430 lineup (any cheap FHD IPS panel would be better), the battery is user-replaceable but might be pretty degraded already (BIG YMMV), and the SoC is not that great anymore (for example, an i3-6100U is close enough to an i5-2520M in CPU performance but well above in iGPU performance). For $320 pretax I'd wait for a DFS sale to get a 3rd gen CPU + HD+ || FHD Latitude, which usually sell for around this price point and might come with some goodies like backlit keyboard and discrete RAM GPU.

BTW, it seems that DFS will have another "sale" this week. See this post.

Actually bar the T420 sturdiness and their keyboard, even some BNIB consumer laptops could be more convenient (even if a bit more expensive) or less RAM/SSD in paper (but with other features like ac wifi, longer endurance on battery, USB3, etc.) and worth the additional expense. For example,

Dell Inspiron 13 i5368-1214GRY Signature Edition 2-in-1 PC
Overall rating value is 4.4 of 5 stars. (8) Read reviews -- CAD $494.10 (was: CAD $549.00) save: CAD $54.90

And this random example is just at regular price with 10% off EDU discount not something on sale.

Not thread crapping just opining. ;)

Bought one of these last year for 200 something.. The Ultrabay turns this into a powerhouse desktop with tons of storage. I love how modular it is and the keyboard is amazing..
I also have a T450 at work, and the T420 holds up excellent on windows 10. Great for a moveable home media server with 2 hard drives plugged in and an eSata port.

Just know also that the T420 and the T430 weigh a ton. If you want the slimmer version, go for the T420s or the T430s. I have the T430s with 8 Gigs of RAM and it is built like a tank, Swap the HDD for a SSD drive and you have a great machine on your hands.

Finally, I have to agree with the previous posters, IT IS NOT WORTH IT at this price. Again, not thread crapping but opining, as quoted by RFD Guru Aviador.

Hope this helps.

If you absolutely want to buy this unit, you might want to consider the T430 for $311. It has a better I5 CPU than this one. You can easily get a cheap SSD and slap it in to make it worth your while.

Hope this helps.

This company has horrible reviews.

Are you sure people buy stuff from here. It seems like they never answer the phones, take forever to ship, and never honour their warranty. The last thing you want with a refurb is a company that ignores you soon as there is an issue.

I have a good experience of buying a T420 from the seller and have recommended it to many friends and family members who are impressed too with the quality of the laptops they bought from the seller.

Bear in mind that online reviews may not represent the full spectrum of buyers' experiences. Usually a bad experience prompts a user to write a review, whilst a user with good experience may have no inclination to write a review.

My T420 laptop arrived within a few days. Packed well and in Grade A condition. Came with a clean install of Windows OS - no bloatware. They offer 1 year free warranty including free shipping to return the laptop for service. This provides a peace of mind. Unlike buying from kijiji where you are left alone in case of any hardware/software problem after buying from an unknown seller.

My T420 has been working for 15 months and still going strong.

You can get some great deals on Kijiji on used Thinkpads etc...

Though if you do buy a used Lenovo, check for Computrace to make sure it isn't activated on the laptop (used to disable laptop if stolen).

You can check by going into the BIOS (click the blue ThinkVantage button on boot up) and clicking on the Security tab...

Computrace should not be activated...

Learned this the hard way buying a used T430s off Kijiji

Yeah, not a hot deal. It's usually at east 60$ cheaper
Also, ou can often get a T430 for that price (or equivalent E6430s from DFS).
The GPU in a 2nd gen Intel core is supported by legacy drivers only and that platform does not have USB3 yet.
