I'm currently with....
http://www.10dollar.ca/ for my registrar.
Then for redirects, I use free service....http://www.dnsexit.com/
I host my website
http://www.doeandjerwedding.ca
and my email server using winmail, off a P2 server which doubles as a foot rest
Its worked great so far.

.CA registrar recommendations please
I'm with DomainPeople currently and I just noticed email forwarding is not working. Called tech support and have been listening to musac for who knows how long. I'm outta here.
So who has the best service (responsive DNS, cust service, etc)?
Thanx all

EasyHosting and BareMetal are good and have been around for quite a long while.
As for forwarding, you shouldn't have problems finding a host which offers that at no extra cost.

Wow! I'm paying $24.95 at DomainPeople, albeit with full url and email forwarding service.
10dollar.ca includes domain forwarding, but not email fwd.
And it seems dnsexit.com charges $5 for email forwarding of domains not registered with them.
http://www.dnsexit.com/Direct.sv?cmd=emailForward
So basically it'd be $15, which is still $10 saved.
Ideally I'd find a decent registrar with full DNS service included to reduce the number of points of failure. One less company to deal with.
Thanx for the heads up Codecx81

Thanx Teknoluv for the sites, but noticed that baremetal only forwards a single mail, though it has cut it's prices to $13. (Man I've been getting ripped off by DP all these years!)
http://baremetal.com/domains/
Easyhosting doesn't mention much about DNS services but their prices are near DP range, so I think I'll keep searching.
.CA must need more competition. The service I get from my .COM registrar just works and I've just taken it for granted.

I use domainsatcost.ca its a little more expensive than 10dollars.ca @ $12.95 but they have been hassle free for the past 3 years so I would recommend them

I use Canaca.com
I've been using them for over 5 years. They are not the evry cheapest, but they are very quick, and their web hosting is killer. I have my own dedicated server with them.

I think the service you pay for, is an actual server that fwd's mail from 1 address to another. If you have a setup similiar to mine, you should not have any extra fees.Last edited by CodecX81; Jan 19th, 2006 at 07:04 AM.

I would'nt suggest going with namespro.ca
I transferred my domain to them yesterday and as of 2pm today afternoon, their servers are down. There was enough time to the new server address to propogate and unfort. all my emails in my address are being bounced right now. Even their main webpage is down. http://www.namespro.ca
Did a search on RFD, and there has been several times when it was down in the past. It being down even once in a year is enough as far as I'm concerned. And so far today its been down for several hours. This is my main domain name I'm talking about. Not impressed at all!

The .com registrar I'm using, Registerfly.com let's you order .ca domains, but they're not on the CIRA.ca list.
And did you know unlike .com domains, .ca registrars are allowed to charge up admin fees to transfer a domain? My reg even is asking for $35 AND a request in writing! Paper. How quaint.

If you want full control over your DNS settings, do NOT get namespro. They charge around $10/year extra for something simple like updating/creating A/CNAME records. Not impressed...most other places let u do this for free.
