[Cabelas] 5.11 Tactical Rush12/24/72 Backpacks - 20% off FS

Was just at my local Cabela's & (besides a bunch of other stuff) I saw all the 5.11 Tactical Rush series backpacks on 20% off sale. I picked up the Rush24 as I found the Rush12 a tad too small & the Rush72, huge. The Rush24 seems to be a good compromise btwn size & practicality (taking it to work, gym, day hikes, bike rides, etc etc).

As most in the know would know, 5.11 Tactical backpacks are an iconic brand favored & treasured by many outdoorsman & ofcos, the military (& its multiple offshoots) due to its molle compatibility besides reliability & durability. The Rush24 is one of the better (if not the best I've seen) designed backpack with compartments upon compartments within compartments. Paired with molle accessories, there's practically no end to what can attached & carried.

Btw the 5.11 slingbags are also on 20% off. FWIW the Rush24's are $155 - $203 on Amazon.

If one doesnt have a local Cabelas, there's FS over $49 with promo code EASTER

I have a rush 12 and 24, great bags, the 12 is on the smaller side but not really that small. The rush 24 is the perfect size for most though. If I am packing light, I go with the Rush 12 every time though. To be honest I go with the 12 most of the time!

I have the 24 but wish I had the 12 it's a bit too big for daily small things. The 12 was below 100 last in 2014 according to the camels, so this is a good deal despite it not being a massive discount. EASTER free shipping.

lols! To be completely honest, I too thought they're pretty fugly but cool in a ghetto kind of way - I think the term is tacticool. Anyhoos, these bags belong in the "tactical" gear category which basically means they are designed to be super rugged & durable but also practical enough to carry a full (&heavy) load in a multi day mission (which generally can include 20-30+ mile daily hikes) which is exactly what the military & other law enforcement/public safety pros need. Pretty isn't in the design specs.

It just so happens that whats good for the military is even better for the ubiquitous outdoorsmen, campers, hikers & other general outdoor activities. Within reason, the molle system provides an amazing way to carry more gear above & beyond what one can stuff inside the backpack itself. As an eg. my Rush24 can carry a full day's worth of stuff (& then some) plus 2 water bottles & a hydration pocket which carries another 2L water bladder. The backpack is so well designed that its super easy to pack & to find stuff in a pinch. Infact I so like my Rush24 that I'm thinking of getting the Rush12 as well as a small(er) general all purpose EDC.

Basically, this is a case of function over form & beauty be damned (but then beauty is in the eye of the beholder so who am I to say). I'm sure there are better backpacks out there but these 5.11 Rush series offer awesome value for the money.

I got a 24 on amazon about 1 month ago for under $100. Took a long time of watching to wait for that sale though.

Was.debating between a rush 12 and moab 10 and now the sale is over. Leaning more towards a Moab 10. Anyone know where in Canada the next best place to buy is?

If you looking for the moab 10, you can get the double tap on Amazon.ca for $109.99.

I was debating between the two as well but decided on the Rush 12 because I think it would be easier on the back compared to one strap when filled.
