That's a lot on extra income. Will CRA care?
Are you serious?

You can't deny the fact that it is extra income.
I think this issue first came up on this forum when Tangerine had their first $150 promo, everyone agreed that it is taxable income.

this is indeed a taxable income. However, individuals are responsible to report this income but not the banks.

Ciuvak you are far too righteous, it's like going back to the grocery store and giving back 55 cents cause they undercharged you. I'd like to think the CRA takes enough of peoples money. The CRA is not going to come after you.

Just stating the facts, because some people don't think about these things. Not trying to panic anyone.

Here was their response:

"After reaching out to our offers team, they have indicated that you
previously had another account that received the Tim Hortons Cash offer.
Since you already received that offer, you would not qualify for the
offer at select Calgary branches."

I did qualify for the Tim's offer but I think should still qualify as the account was closed.

I was told that since I had an account and closed it in July 2014, i don't qualify. The T&C clearly state that you should not be an account holder at the beginning of the offer which was Jan 2015 which I wasn't. so I've escalated the issue so lets see what happens
