Call Center Positions?

Hello everyone, just looking for advice on getting a call center job. I looked at a previous thread but it was old and I wanted more up to date information. I recently graduated with a social science degree (I know, I know) and I really need a job as I have mouths to feed.

- Can someone give me a list of all the call center places to apply?
- Generally what is the pay and hours?
- Do I need previous experience?
- Should I include my university info when applying (ie degree, high gpa, minors)? The reason I ask is I'm worried they might think I'll just leave after 2 weeks for a better opportunities.

Look for inbound sales at a large companies. In these positions you can usually make at least 20 bucks an hour with commission sometimes even upwards of $50 or more an hour if you are really good.

Yes, if a commission is being paid out then expect to be selling.

Eluta.ca is a good job site, as they pull job ads from several other sites. (Monster, Workopolis etc...) Just type 'Inside Sales' and your location, a bunch should popup.

50/hr ??? That is a lot. How would you get commission if its inbound calls. Are you expected to sell something?

Yes to make this kind of money you need to be selling things. Also you need to work directly for the company not a third party call center. 50 is extreme but 20-30 is more normal assuming your at least hitting targets. No sales just tech support or customer service expect 14-18 range and more headaches usually.

Im looking into CS more. I just feel sales is too much pressure.
