Camping in Cali...How to pack food?
Girlfriend and I are going to coachella at the end of april, and we're staying at the on-site campground. Since I don't want to spend a ton while we're there on the campsite-gouging-increased-food-prices, i'm hoping to pack enough food to get us through the majority of the weekend without needing to spend a ton.
Adding to the difficulty is that
(A) My girlfriend is a vegetarian
(B) Space is an issue, since i'm surprising her with the trip on the way to the airport (i'm sly like that), we'll only be carrying one full size backpack. And since this backpack needs to hold all the clothing, supplies, etc... space for food will be kinda tight
(C) We're spending the weekend outdoors in the desert, and need to make sure we keep our energy up.
(D) We have no access to cooking stoves, fires, heaters, etc...
I've been looking into something like these (3600 Calorie MRE bars) , but any time I try to order from somewhere in the states the shipping tops over $30USD! I can't find these products in canada...
Does anyone have any ideas for what I could pack? I'm drawing a blank.

for food, u really need a seperate container for it
can you tie something or mount a small cooler box on top of your backpack?
why cant u have a fire by the campsite? thats just weird
lipton sidekicks are good for camping ive found
or u could go with Mr. Noodle but thats only with pots, water, and fire eh...
how many days are you going?
if you are going to take the airplane
maybe consider buying some food in california and not in canada
do you really want to torture yourself over ER bars?
id really recommend finding a campsite that can have a campfire for cooking and stuff
once uve got fire, possiblities just increased by a whole lot
u can start thinking about vege burger paties too

The campsite we're staying at is at the venue, and it's really tight (kind of like a tent city?)...they don't allow a lot of stuff, but it's the most convenient in terms of getting to the show and back every day without a vehicle

I'd rather eat ER bars and know I wasn't going to make myself sick then pack food thats not going to give me the energy I need! lol
Unforuntatly finding another campground isn't really an option (no transport to/from and most things are booked up by now)
Buying food there might be an option, I haven't looked into grocery stores in the area as of yet.
