I personally think the $50 plan is the sweet spot with them. Internet 75 for only a few dollars more than Internet 30, which itself is only a few dollars more than Internet 20. No point spending more than you need to of course but I find 75 is pretty good for our house (sometimes multiple streams going on at once etc).

Ya, 75 mbps only $50 with no commitment and free rental modem is a very good deal. Having said that, if you only have 1~2 users. Internet 30 is more than enough.

Even the "basic plus" package is enough for most people. It says 20mbps down 1.5mbps up, but I consistently get 24mbps down 4.5mbps up.

oh shxt, the only reason that I don't order the "basic plus" package was because it said it had 1.5 mbps up on the web page. If it is 4.5 up, I will order the "basic plus" package instead.

Just noticed that Can Com appears to have branched out into Electricity and Natural Gas Service in Alberta (strange product mix, but I guess internet and electricity/gas are pretty much “essentials” for any house). I’m not on the electricity or gas service myself, but details are in the below link. Interestingly, if you sign up for their new service, they give a monthly internet discount of either $2 (if you’re only using one of electricity or natural gas) or $5 if you sign up for both. Not sure how their electricity and gas rates and fees compare to others but definitely something to look into.

Not for me in Calgary. Have been streaming video all evening without any issues.

In Calgary too and didn’t notice any outage last night. Everything working fine this morning. Could have been a local issue with Shaw perhaps.

Yes, it is a Shaw outage. As of 10am today, still down.

If I go with the internet75, can I upgrade to the 150 later without charge? About how long does it take Can Com to send out the modem to the time I receive it?

Yes you can switch to any different plan one time for free. They ship very quickly.
