I am pretty sure it is a universal charger but always best to check.
Last year we went to France and before going I asked on A tomtom forum if my car charger would work. I was told it would. Sure enough after a little while it got real hot and was fried. Luckily the car I rented had a usb input so was able to use my usb cable.

Can I plug my Vostro 1220 in the UK?
Feel stupid asking this, but better safe than sorry. I'll be using the appropriate plug converter.
On the laptop adapter it reads 100-240v, so that's safe to use. On the cable that attaches from the outlet to the adapter it reads 300v. However there's a sticker that reads "2.5A 125v~."
I assume it's safe, but I fried my xbox's brick last time I didn't double check...

Yes, your laptop will work properly in the UK. You just need a proper plug conversion adapter to match the UK-style power holes. The voltage difference will be taken care of by your power brick. I've operated a Dell D610 successfully in eastern Europe which uses the same kind of power brick as the Vostro.

Like everybody said, it will work.
"a sticker that reads "2.5A 125v~." means that this power supply would draw 2.5 amp at 125volt AC supply. If you feed in 220 volt AC, it would reduce the current draw to about half that amount. The sticker is for your information only.
