You're only supposed to sell things which you have in your physical posession, so in this case I would say yes...since you are selling the pre-order slip, as opposed to selling the item.
But it could definitely be looked at both ways.

Can sell tentative products?
I preordered King of Fighters 11 (and paid full price, so when it comes out, I just go and pick it up without paying a dime) at the EB in Eaton Center, however it is not possible for me to go and pick it on the day it comes out (supposed to be today, however it did not come out).
I phoned the EB in Eatons to see if they had it, and they said they cannot check for product availability over the phone. Big wtf there. It is not beneficial for me if I have to travel there when I believe they have it, and then find out I wasted money getting there (I go to school at Yorkdale area).
So I'd want to sell the preorder slip (with proof it's paid in full), for the amount the game is, and then just buy it from the EB in Yorkdale mall (because I can easily go there during lunch, while going to Eaton Center is not possible, plus it saves tickets) when it comes out.
Is this possible to do on RFD? Or am I just being selfish.

The only downside I can think of is the difficulty of proving that it's legit. I am sure anyone who'd agree to buy a pre-order slip would have doubts. Anyone can make a fake receipt, or make a double receipt.

Isn't Yorkdale like 4 subway stops from the eaton center? You can probably walk there in like 15 or 20 minutes can't you?
I'm sure you can spare 15 minutes out of one of your days to go pick it up. Just phone EB again and tell them you live far away, you have a pre-order slip and you just want to know if that game has come in yet._______________

As long as your selling something physical, your fine. A pre-order slip, is a physical item and thus can be sold.

Yorkdale is at Bloor & Yonge is it not?
That is not a 20 minute subway ride nor is it an hour walk.
You just bought a $60 game (give or take) and now you're complaining about an extra $5 to pick up the game? That doesn't make much sense to me.
If you want, go ahead and sell the pre-order slip. Nobody in their right mind will give you full price for it, so you can sell it at a slight discount and lose more money than the subway would have cost, and even if you could sell it at full price, you're going to have to meet up with that person somewhere, which will likely be one or more TTC fares, the same as it would take to just pick up the game in the first place.
Stop and think about all of that for a second..._______________

Oh hell. I was thinking of Yorkville. That's at Bloor & Yonge correct?
That's why it seemed odd to me that you wouldn't just take a very short trip down the subway tracks and get your game.
Either way, selling the slip just doesn't make sense unless you can find someone willing to meet at your house, at a time convenient to you, and willing to pay full price. That's just far too unlikely, when that person could just go to their local store and buy a copy themselves._______________
