I don't know if it will work, but you can always disable the modem part of it, and just run the wireless router with the DHCP server off. That will make it act like an extension of the first router.

Can you Set up to Modems under the Same Connection?
This is my setup.
I have my DSL modem in my basement. (phone line in basement connected to my modem) Moden to my Linksys wireless router. (via ethernet cable)
I have 3 levels in my house. My signal is very inconsistent.
Since I have a spare modem/wireless router I got from my ISP, can I just set up another connection on my second level of my house?
ie. phone line on second level of the house plugged into a different modem/wireless router.
will this work?
thanks.

No, you cannot use two DSL modems on the same line; Seiphas suggestion is probably the best way to go.

Also depending on the model of your router you may be able to put a 3rd party firmware like dd-wrt or tomato on it which will make it run much more stable and give you much many more features.
If not I suggest you flash it with the latest firmware from linksys as it will probably solve some issues for you._______________
