Wouldn't it make more sense to commit that money to things that will generate more jobs and internal growth for those already here?

Good. More immigrants means more demand. Hopefully that turns into more jobs etc.

Leftist Liberal Party Strategy to Win Elections:

1) Bring in a bunch of poor immigrants and unskilled refugees. Promises them huge entitlements and welfare for votes.
2) Tax and regulate business until they close down or outsource. Then, there will be more poor and jobless people. Put all the funding to huge entitlements and welfare for more votes.
3) Overuse political correctness and "dats raycist" to shut down any opposition.

Conservative voter strategy to discuss elections:

1) Wrap tin foil around head very tightly. 15 layers minimum, 25 recommended (as proven through careful studies conducted in the head of 1 person)
2) Speak anything and everything that comes to mind and treat it as gospel truth.
3) Point finger, blame, point finger, blame (repeat)
4) Parrot buzzwords like "leftist" "virtue signalling" "PC", etc...

The current strategy seems to be to blame and berate voters for not voting for them. Not a long term solution.

They are basically looking for slave labor for jobs "Canadians" are not willing to do and at the same time increase birth rates as well.

Indeed. It's Marketing and advertising by governments trying to buy fro themselves or show an abundance of goodwill at the expense of the taxpayer.
