[Canada Computers] iSmart SMTB4100 13.3" FHD(1920x1080) Fanless Notebook/N3450/4GB RAM/32GB SSD/m.2 Slot/Win 10/Slim Metal Case - $239

Currently at $239 after $60 off - a bit warmer deal than $249 last week.

There are loads of information of this poorman's XPS-13 in an expired thread talking about:
1. how to update Windows 10 with a fresh installation.
2. how to trim down Windows 10 to make it run super fast.
e.g. https://www.askvg.com/master-tutorial-t ... uper-fast/
3. Which m.2 SSD is compatible
e.g. https://www.canadacomputers.com/product ... _id=114573
4. How to install Linux on dual boot or replacing Win 10.

Check out that thread with many user reviews here:

I am happily using this iSmart as a replacement of my 11.6" Chromebook. Its LCD panel is much better than the Chromebook, its battery lasts quite awhile and its cpu has more power than the Chromebook.

At this price point, do not expect a powerful CPU. But it is more than enough to meet basic computing needs i.e. web browsing, video streaming and running Office Suite. I also use it for simple photo editing.

CC provides 15 day free return period if you are not happy with it.

Ok enough already of this thing, there's already a huge thread. I got one, nothing special. It's very basic.

Canada Computers stuff keeps coming back as new deals regularly like this awful computer or that ZTE Mini from 3 years ago.

It’s not a cheap xps 13, it’s a netbook that needs an ssd to be useful. Most of the other thread is just talking about what m.2 drive to buy for it.

Thanks OP, was actually looking into one of these, but from what I heard, they don't hold up well over time? Has anyone had any issues?

Been using mine daily since BD and all is well here. Pretty speedy once I put Windows on a Crucial M2 drive.

Not playing Fortnite or anything, but it’s trucking on.

If it was $99 and you installed a lite Linux distro it would be ok.

phew, that's great news. Using my graph paper, pencil and straight ruler, I am calculating that from BD to now is 25 DAYS, starting at 0 ( or day 1 ) plotting on chart. I come up with a life span of 13229 years. Of course it could be longer but my paper ran out.

I think this thing is rock solid. It's a go!
