I actually purchased this TV, and would not recommend it. Although the colors are really good with their version of quantum dot, the local dimming is straight abysmal. It looks like there's only about 16 dimming zones across the entire TV, so there's insane levels of blooming for high contrast scenes - so bad I'd honestly recommend an edge lit display over it. Unfortunately I'm stuck with it, but for other prospective buyers, I'd recommend either Samsung's q6f/nu8000 or the Vizio p series.

Thx for the post OP but I wouldn't spend over $1500 +on a lg unless it was an OLED, I'd even sacrifice a 55" over a 65" if it was close to an oled price. Like I used to tell my customers, if you are just hanging it flat on a wall and want a 65" experience for a 55" price, instead of flat mount get a full motion mount and extend it out as then the perspective of a 55" fully extended would be the same as or similar to a 65" in a flat wall position. Anyways sorry about the long winded post, it's just my opinion.

that would put a lot of strain on the wall over time. a 55" TV weighs around 38lb. if you extend the mount length 4x from its resting position, and if I got my physics right, that would be like hanging a 152lb TV without full motion

I wouldn’t buy an LG unless it’s an OLED. They just don’t make good non-OLED TV’s

+1000000.... Same for Samsung. And VIzio was overwhelming. I'd sooner buy a Sony X900F if I was gonna go the LED route or the LG C8 or Samsung Q8/9 if I was gonna break the bank. Everything else just seems meh.

The Samsung NU8000 is on sale for 1399.99 at visions. Yes the vizio p series is a great tv but the OS on it completely slow and garbage.

The reason I suggest visions is that they actually are willing to drop the price even further. Yes it requires some haggling but I was quoted around 1250-1300 for the 65 inch.

Yep, ordered on Saturday and went to pick it up today, last one in Whitby I think, several other stores had 1 or 2 when I ordered.

Looks like store clearance, try your luck they might have other TVs.
