Canada Post Damage Claim

Just a few questions

1) Does the sender has to do everything (i.e. the receiver is not involved with Canada Post at all)?
2) How long does it usually take?
3) Does Canada Post need to look at the damaged item?
4) Will Canada Post declined a claim? With what reason?

I filed several claims in the past and they all went through successfully. Please note my answers may not be entirely correct as I haven't filed one since last year.

1) Does the sender has to do everything (i.e. the receiver is not involved with Canada Post at all)? Receiver is involved when CanadaPost contacts them to verify the information sender's provided.
2) How long does it usually take? Less than a month
3) Does Canada Post need to look at the damaged item? Never happen to me. I simply provide detail descriptions regarding the damaged item.
4) Will Canada Post declined a claim? With what reason? Never happen to me but I heard if you file claims frequently, you will be flagged.
