My comment was strike pay is so low it may as well be nothing.
A very short period of strike pay leads to Canada Post employees muscling the government into giving them very generous raises, for the rest of their careers. Don't act like this is a struggle.

Most of the people who will be liable for when Canada Post's retirement goes bust spend years without any raise, have no retirement and their salary is never adjusted to compensate for inflation. How is it fair?

It's absurd to portray something that should be a bare minimum as a favor that Canada Post employees bestow to the unwashed masses, when they are empoverishing them at the exact same time by spending money and taking it from those taxpayers' old age pension and these taxpayers' children, who will inherit the dung mountain to climb out of.

Stopped reading here.

If you actually bothered to read some *facts*, you would learn that raises have been well below inflation for a long time.

Our regular postman coming on a small CPC cargo minivan disappeared a few weeks ago. Now the building is serviced by another lady coming on a large red CPC parcel delivery van. I asked her what happen, and she said "service restructuring" not related to a strike. What CPC is trying to do now with unloading mail delivery in large buildings to large or late parcel delivery service? Anyone else noticed that?

The parcel biz is far bigger (literally) than the letter biz now
Which is exactly WHY all the changes at Canada Post in the last 10 years
They are streamlining
Super Mailboxes meant the door to door postie disappeared... and was replaced by a mini van that could do a lot more houses by multiple stops at these neighbourhood boxes... AND distribute parcels
As online shopping has gotten bigger and in greater volumes the vans have gotten bigger too
Not surprised if you are seeing this size van if you live in an Apartment Bldg... no doubt the route designated for this driver might be just larger complexes (apartment & commercial buildings)

In the residential areas (suburbia... where it’s single family homes) this type of larger van doing letter mail delivery is only seen during the Christmas Rush
Rest of the year for the most part, as you say there are 2 streams... smaller vans for Letter Mail / Super Mailbox Delivery
And the larger ones for Parcel Delivery / Commercial Delivery
