I've actually been very impressed by CP delivery this holiday season. I bought a lot of items from Amazon and service was pretty quick.

Same here, but not just from Amazon..I bought items from The Source & Sportchek several times, all shipped by CP and all arriving the day after they were shipped - including Sunday.

I was impressed with CP this season, until I received a package Wed to community mailbox.
They left a key to retrieve from the parcel compartment - doesn't work.
Package is still in there.

I imagine places outside of Toronto would have been better served.
I received great service from CP and Fedex in Toronto given the circumstances.
Had nothing delivered by any other couriers though.
Still awaiting some stuff from amazon ordered Christmas day.
Amazon estimated is mid January to early February though both items have been shipped.
Not sure who the courier is as there remains no tracking for these items.
Looks like some couriers actually planned well to get stuff out for Christmas.
I hear Fedex and Purolator forwarded all their big heavy stuff like furniture, TV's and Boxed mattreses to UPS so that they could free up capacity to deliver smaller items more readily.
UPS prioritized the large stuff they could not handle(including TV returns which was low priority to begin with) which compromised smaller stuff like new GAP accounts, which increased the number of delivery stops, effort and costs to deliver unprofitable items.

Since Amazon did not offer many good deals during boxing week, I won't expect any delay after Christmas as Amazon accounts for quite amount for online shopping.

Wow I had no clue these competing couriers actually offloaded their business to one another. Very interesting.

The problem I have with Canada Post is their tracking system.

It seems to lag behind the actual processing and delivery.
Message I just received from the store is that the package shipped by CP will be delivered - on the CP tracking website the tracking number is not even recognized yet as being valid.

I was expecting a package in York area since the 29th but it went from out for delivery that day to getting processed twice since then.

Could it be the holidays, bad weather, and overwhelming amount of packages delaying everything? I must not be the only one affected!

Shipped within Canada btw.

I thought it was just me,
my item is still waiting to be "out for delivery" for 2 days now...

Mine came in pretty quickly. Anything from overseas (mainly China) is often delayed.
