Canada Post... why is it so slow?

Purchased an item in China (EMS), it's been sitting in Vancouver for 3 days without any updates.

2011/11/25
11:44 VANCOUVER Item was released by Customs and is now with Canada Post for processing
10:16 VANCOUVER International item arrived in Canada and will be reviewed by Customs

Then it all just stopped. I've never had a problem with Canada Post till now. Any idea why it's not moving?

I'm in a similar situation, except that it's been 5 days.

OP, was your item delivered?

When the doorbell rings, it's just a request. You are not a dog, it is not a command, only a request. You are not in church, you are at home. No guilt.

I'm not surprised. Both postal services are slow as hell.

They can be slow (especially if they need to make the detour through a customs facility), but my last package was head-snappingly fast, so I need to give them kudos for that.

Online order, they sent the pickup request to Canada Post 14:38 Dec 30 - Friday before a long weekend, it was on my doorstep Dec 31 - a Saturday - by noon.
Be careful shopping at Shoppers Drug Mart they repeatedly sell expired baby/food/health products.

Why are you blaming CP?

It's sitting in Canada customs.....nothing to do with Canada Post.

I find the delivery of regular post to be as indicated on the board at the post office outlets. Which is much better than it used to be some time ago. Also send a letter to Europe recently and according to the tracking system it was in Europe over the weekend. Where in Europe it did not say. But it cost me 18 bucks. Even the post men comes everyday lately to sort and slid the mail in the community boxes. I was very critical of it in the past. :D
