I don't think this would work on a prepaid plan correct?

Thanks for the heads up, I usually just let my VM take care of unknown callers.

I’ve been called twice about the CRA saying I’ll be arrested if I don’t pay taxes owed to them

I recently received a call from Albania, country code 355. Being on a prepaid service, I don't worry about extra fees. As a rule, I don't call back to confirm wrong numbers. If they really want to get a hold of me, voice mail works.

Yeah, I've probably received a couple of these. Last one was a 717 Pennsylvania area code. One ring or two and then it would hang up. Would never have even considered calling them back though.

Recognized one in my call log. The number is +222 45 21 23 33, Nouakchott (Capital of Mauritania) on Feb 3 at 3:20 pm.

Nobody should ever be calling a number back unless they leave a voicemail.

I always say, "If it is important, they will leave a voicemail."

If I don't recognize the number I may not answer (especially long distance or a 1800 #.
If I get no voice mail then it was a telemarketer most likely.
