Citizenshp and Immigration Canada ...
You can get the application forms from here ... http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applica...u-citizen.html
It takes 6-9 months to get your card (new application).

So here is a bit more info ...
The current fee is $75 non-refundable (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applica...html#wp1010371)
We applied for my daughter earlier this year ... and, if I remember correctly, they want you to update the card whenever the info (picture mostly) doesn't match your current state ... For GateGuardian, given that your picture is from age 8, you will probably have to update it whenever you need to use it .. which is:
"You need to prove your citizenship when you:
vote;
apply for a passport;
return to Canada from abroad;
apply for certain jobs; or
apply to obtain certain government entitlements"
From (http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/citizen...te%2Dinfo.html)

I got you beat!
Mine was issued '85.
It's a very very cheap contraption. Simple lamination job., picture is low grade. It's someting any hick could fabricate with elementary stationaries.
I was thinking about the need to update it., but I'll wait out another year or so till the edges are ~80% unstuck.
So who's got an OLDER version? hehe.
What does the new one look like?
btw, my wife just got her permanent resident card, and I must say, we were thoroughly impressed. It is like 2 credit cards stuck together...well okay 1.5 Security features up the YIN-YANG! Formidable construction indeed.
