Canadian Mortgage, GIC, and RRSP Rate Tables Updated Daily
We've just added a bunch of rate comparison tables to our Financial Services section.
We currently have:
- Canadian Mortgage Rates - Variable, Open, Convertible
- Canadian Mortgage Rates - Closed
- Canadian Mortgage Rates - Long Term
- Mortgage and Real Estate Terms Glossary
- Canadian RRSP Rates
- Canadian GIC Rates - Annual
- Canadian GIC Rates - Semi-Annual
- Canadian GIC Rates - Quarterly
- Canadian GIC Rates - Monthly
They're all updated daily courtesy of FiscalAgents.com so you can be sure to get the most accurate rates. All of the major financial institutions are included alongside some of the smaller players as well.
Check it out and let us know if it's useful!

Lowest Mortgage Rates
Thanks for the reply Derek but the link below has the lowest rates in Canada, They even give a cashback in some cases to help pay legal fees. Sorry but they have you beat by a country mile.

I think the section that says "RRSP rates" is a little confusing. It doesn't say if these are RRSP eligible GICs, savings accounts, or what. It is stuff like that that makes people think that RRSPs are a different type of investment instead of a tax deferral scheme!

mortgageguy.. I agree.. these rates aren't any good. These must be only the posted rate.. not the discounted rate. Therefore.. the RFD mortgage rates page isn't worth the bandwidth.
Example.. .current lowest 5 year closed.... 5.75 thru icici.
I can get 5.57%. HUGE savings...
Also... The "RRSP" rates page is a pet peave of mine.
IT ISN'T AN RRSP RATE! It is a GIC! RFD is sounding as dumb as the banks in that respect. Change the "RRSP" word to "GIC" and it is all better. If you really want to keep the "RRSP" in there for marketing reasons... change it to "RRSP eligible GIC." as nobody said above.

A friend of mine signed with Scotia @ 4.19% fixed rate, plus they paid the fees to break his existing mortgage. I called today and met with them too. They are waiting to see how much of a penalty it will be to break my mortgage before they give the final ok.
It was at 1258 King St East branch in Kitchener. I think the ladies name was Laura but my memory is terrible.
Seems like a great rate to me, and if they cover the fees I am dropping royal bank like a bad habit.
