I was a member for 2 yrs. But have to say there are a few problems with the operation and some of the CPS leaders for resorts.
This is volunteer work and when I was there it was scheduled duty and if you couldnt attend it was your duty to make arrangements for someone else to do your shift. In this day,, people are busy with shift work and family committments etc,, just giving there time to the service is great but putting pressure to work when you cant or give you crap etc is not proper. It is no wonder the CPS loses member all the time.
Secondly,,,, the egos on some of the Cps is pathetic. You are not god or some high almighty person. You are a volunteer and no better then anyone else. The attitude and such is horrible.
Clean it up and people may stay in the system longer. A lot of good highly trained people have left due to this

Hello Fireguy9,
Sorry to hear that you where caught up in the Politics and Bs.
I agree with you the Politics and BS.Does it exist?
Yes i will not say that it does not.
However,it does not mean that we are all the same.
We are a large Volunteer organisation and it happens everywhere.
I have made many friends, saved a few lives.
Taken advantage of the many priveleges that the Organisation has to offer.
Skied lots of places with either no payment or reduced prices.
In both Canada and the USA.
The First aid is second to none.
Hope this helps to answer your question.
Thank you for your comments.
Happy Thanksgiving.Last edited by redpattison; Oct 10th, 2005 at 10:14 AM.

Oct 10th, 2005 12:09 PM #10I enjoyed the few yrs I did ski partrol but the reason I decided not to come back was due to that crap that goes on,,, and specifically those people who were the so called in charge,,, had egos and attitudes thinking they were someone important!! LOL

First aid program is a good course, but second to none,,, not.
