[Canadian Tire] $49.99 for Synthetic, $24.99 for Conventional Oil Change While You Shop, No Appointment Necessary!

This deal is great for those that trust their local Canadian Tire Mechanic.

Went in my local Canadian Tire this evening (Ottawa Carling Ave location) and saw this posted in the store:

$24.99 for a conventional oil change
$49.99 for a synthetic oil change

While you shop, no appointment necessary.
*For most vehicles, up to 5L of oil, $5 filter.

Hell No!
I got free oil change coupons from signing up for roadside assistance and threw them out quick.

Thanks OP, I do trust my local CT mechanic and will be taking advantage of this. I learned to change the oil in a car when I was 12 or so. If a mechanic in training can't do it in a large shop then there's no hope for humanity.

I wouldn't let Canadian Tire change my oil for free.

Loss leader so CT can go on a fishing expedition for more $$$ "work" (i.e. you need to flush xyz, your air filter is bad, etc...)

I realize every post (except 1) above me says to avoid CT and I really would. They try and find so many other things that are wrong with your car. The very last time I took my car to CT, they gave me an itemized list of $900 items to change on my car and all I wanted was an oil change.

The other day I went to CT for something else, I overheard a mechanic come and talk to the manager about items needing to be changed in someones car, the manager told him to leave it as the lady can't afford it. Maybe go in there with ragged clothes.

This is CT Barrhaven and CT Gloucester.

I would much rather spend 47.99 on some ramps on sale (which I did) and change the oil myself.

This must be location dependent. I had mine changed at ct a week ago and it was about $50 for regular oil
Don't talk about it, be about it
