It doesn't say that you have to have the work done @ CT. Most of the povided services don't even involve towing.

People are really complaining about this? $20 for 3, 100km tows by itself is a steal.
I'll pick 2 of these up for my parents, just need to know when it goes on sale as I haven't seen it changed in flyer or online.Last edited by Zyphur; Nov 29th, 2012 at 08:03 PM.

The pamphlet is a generic pamphlet you get from the counter. I never saw anything unique in any of the bags.
I guess they could ask you email the CT receipt, but they've never done that with me. Since I'm already in their system they just confirm license plate and date of purchase.
I do hope they become more sophisticated to prevent fraud so this deal continues annually, but I think at the end of the day it comes down to morals.

To be even more specific, it's not 100km to anywhere; it's to the nearest Canadian Tire Service Centre within 100km. I've always had decent mechanics going to privately owned shops, and likely won't have a car serviced at CT given all the bad reviews I've read and poor testimonials I've heard over 25+ years of driving.

To be even more specific of your specifics - it does NOT have to be serviced by Canadian Tire.
Having said that - Canadian Tire is not my preferred mechanic, but if I'm 200km out of town I'd rather they service it than Bob's Tractor Service. And if there is an issue with the repair, at least Canadian Tire next to your house can look at it when you get home. Good luck trying that with a privately owned shop 200km away.

I wish I had one of these last year. I got stuck in the snow on the side of the highway and the bastards charged me 70 bucks just to winch it out.

Aye wondering if either CT or Costco's road side covers the US.
